Gore Vidal ******* friday & my week is just starting. these are large storage units. (go to this site to get an idea of what i�m talking about.) they showed up in a full tractor-trailer unit. some of the pallets were over 1300 lbs. they were here on time & just needed to know where the loading dock was. we don�t have a loading dock & the truck did not have a lift. this is when everything got interesting. i had told the design company that we did not have a loading dock. (all deliveries come in through the front door) but they did not tell the people who make & pack the units. as a result of not knowing, they packed everything on pallets thinking that they would just be rolling them out of the truck & onto a loading dock. the smallest pallet checked in at 400 lbs. like i said, things got interesting. they had to break down every pallet load & bring all the parts by hand, then load them onto dollies to bring them to where they needed to be. what should have taken 2 hours to unload too almost 9. by the time they finished we had a stack of empty pallets 4 feet high & a box of packing that was around 300 lbs. guess who had to move it all by himself? i was tired by the time i left� but nowhere near as tired as the poor guys from the company who started their project here on a real crappy note. they will be working here for the next 7 days straight to get the units assembled & installed. then they get to drive home to canada. add to all of this that they speak very little english & i speak no french. i hope that they are getting paid very well for this. the plus side of all of this is that i will be getting some much-needed overtime. could be a chance to catch up on a few of the bills. (the smaller ones at least) there is a plus side to almost everything. i need to keep reminding myself of that. & now, a little rant about sex toys� no, i�m not kidding. i�ve been thinking about sex toys & realizing that it is one of the few areas where woman get to have most of the fun. if you�re a woman & your looking for something to pleasure yourself there are about 50,000 different products you can choose from. there must be at least 20,000 different kinds of vibrators alone. lets not even get into the dildos, harnesses, clothing, props, etc. women don�t need men, they just need an account at Good Vibrations & they are all set. & woman can get away with buying toys & using them without looking creepy. a woman buys a vibrator & mentions that she uses it & no one raises an eyebrow. mention masturbation if you are a guy & people get freaked out or grossed out or just plain offended. & guys don�t have much of a choice when it comes to fun toys (even if we could buy them without looking desperate or strange). the blow-up sex dolls are not even an option. (i think 99% of them are bought as a joke). there are �pumps� that are like low-tech vacuum cleaners (& about as appealing). most of the other things (& there aren�t too many other things) really need another person for them to be any fun. so, that leads us to a place where woman can please themselves without any real stigma & with a variety of options� & men are stuck beating off in private like they have been since they were 13 & dealing with the locker room humor & embarrassment that goes along with it. is it any wonder that men want sex so much� it is the only real sexual release that they get. they could go to a strip club, but that just makes matters worse. look at a bunch of naked woman dancing� you can�t touch them, they can�t touch you & they leave with all of your money. sounds like a bad marriage, not a fun night on the town. & no, this is not a knock against woman. i say more power to you� enjoy what you�ve got & have fun. woman get ripped off in so many other areas in this world, they deserve the joy of masturbation guilt free & with more options then men. & no, i don�t have any answers for the guys other than this� we can land a man on the moon, we can build a super computer, & we can map out DNA, why can�t we come up with a decent toy for guys & make it ok for them to use it? i�m just asking. i know� way too much information. guess that is my cue to call it a night. more later. |
