Warren Zevon has died. dragging today. was sick all weekend with the back-to-school-bug. happened last year too. the kid goes to school & gets exposed to every cold & bug that he was not exposed to over the summer. then he brings it home to share. wee. hopefully this will take care of the cold thing until winter. very good reading last night. would have enjoyed it more if i werent moving in slow-mo. was great to see Peddler read again. he was a big influence on my reading style early on & you can still see his style in some of my faster poems. (as well as a line or two of his) was also very good to see more woman in the reading again. hoping that this a trend that continues. going to be making a larger effort to get more woman involved in the reading again. i dont like it when it gets skewed on way or the other, prefer to keep a balance if i can. have to see what happens over the next few months. not much planned for this week. basing a lot of what im doing on how quickly this cold goes away. dont want to overdo it & end up just making myself sicker. rather just take the time to lay low & get better. hoping a few days of taking it easy will do the trick. God, that sounds almost reasonable. something must be wrong with me ;-) time to get back to work. moving slow & not getting as much done as i should. hoping ill catch up by friday, but that depends on what the week has in store for me. just have to see what happens. hope you all have a good night. be well. We may be tempted to abandon some of the time-honored principles and commitments which have been proven during the difficult times of past generations. We must never yield to this temptation. Our American values are not luxuries, but necessities - not the salt in our bread, but the bread itself. |
