first off, welcome to the new readers. i don�t know what you are expecting to find here, but i hope you enjoy. second, to everyone who has been reading for a while, thank you for reading & being my cyber family. you guys rock. now, on to the entry� the reading last night was very good. felt strange to read some of my entries out loud� not something i thought about when i wrote them. it was different from other features i�ve done in the past. this felt much more personal than what i�ve done before, yet it felt very comfortable. i think a lot of that had to do with the room� there was a very relaxed feeling in the room last night & that helped me feel comfortable. it think i did a good set� it is hard for me to gauge just how it went. it was also very strange having my parents there last night. they have only seen me read once before, so it was odd to have them sitting in the middle of the room mingling with the regulars. they came with a friend of theirs from church who�s daughter did a mini-feature in the middle of the open reading. i digress at this point to tell you that becky guerra did a kick-ass mini-feature. she is living out in seattle & getting involved in the slam scene, so if you are in that neck of the woods go check her out. (& the cool seattle slam scene in general). sold a bunch of books after the reading. i like the way the book came out. color cover (first i�ve ever done) & a nice mix of poems & entries. will be interesting to see what people think about it. have to keep my ears peeled the next few weeks for the feedback. my friend mags came out to the reading & it was great to have the chance to hang out with her. she knows me from way back & yet she still likes me. this is a good thing. there are only a handful of people from my past who i have any interest in being in contact with & strangely, three of them were there last night. kinda cook in an old school sort of way. post birthday� spent the afternoon using some gift cards i got for the holiday. picked-up some much-needed pants, a great fleece shirt & lots of paint. hoping to get back to painting again in the new year. already have some ideas i want to work on. (picked up some pearl essence to mix with the paints & my mind started racing) hoping for a year of creativity. back to the grind tomorrow. still have a bunch of things i need to get done before the new year & very little time to do it. at least i�m rested a bit & can return with a clearer head. always nice to have some time to step back a bit so i can look at things with a bit of distance. hard to see the smoke when you are standing in the fire. more to talk about but i think i�ve maxed myself out for the night. think it is time to pack it up & head to bed. hope you all have a good day. be well.
