song of the sea

i need warm sand.
need a moon rising above the waves & warm sea breezes.
need quiet, small-town cafes & a pot of English breakfast tea while i watch the stars come out.

I need the sound of ships bells, waves against wooden hulls, light wind in sea grass, and gulls overhead.
need lighthouses in the distance.
need rocks along the shore releasing the heat of the day into my skin.

i need salt on my lips.
need the softness of the sea holding me in her arms.
need to float under night skies.
i need to sink below the surface.

we come from the sea.
to the sea we return.
salt is in us.
our blood
our sweat
our skin
our tears.
the gulls sing our lullaby.

there is a need for a sea change in all of us.
there is a need to return home.

because you asked
Smints are little candies that pack a huge fruit punch. About the size of the head of a nail, they fill your mouth with flavor. The lemon ones are my favorite but the peach ones are really good too. you can get them at target for about 80 cents. i am hooked on them (to the tune of 3-6 packages a week). Now you know.
