cool & damp outside today. no other way to describe the weather than crappy. ah, the wonders of late fall in new england.
spent most of yesterday afternoon getting the car taken care of. as it can be sometimes, a simple afternoon went wacky. started by getting an oil change. things went very well & i ended up getting out of there earlier than i thought. great, i think to myself, & head off to get the car inspected. all went well & i pictured having some free time before picking up the boy� then they checked the front suspension. one of the front tie rod was about to break & they failed the car.
so much for a quiet afternoon.
headed home to figure out what to do next� only to find a letter from the state informing me that they were going to suspend my license if i didn�t pay a ticket i got for not having an inspection sticker. sigh.
after some phone calls, i made arrangements to get the car worked on first thing in the morning (for a much cheaper price than i thought) & started to calm down a bit. sometimes things happen & sometimes things happen all at once.
they had the car done by 10:30am this morning for an even lower price than they had quoted. they also said that the car had about five miles left before the tie rod would have broken. (it broke when they put the car on the lift) S was heading to new york today & wanted the oil changed before she left� that is what started all of this. if they had not found the tie rod it most likely would have broken on the way to the city. as it stands now, the car is fixed & on it�s way to the gig as we speak.
sometimes things happen

& sometimes things happen for a damn good reason.
feeling very lucky & blessed right now. i think i have good reason to feel that way.
by the way, if you are in NYC you should go see Daily Mouse tonight. they are the feature at the Bowery Poetry Club. the show starts at 7:00pm.
as for me, i have to go get the boy. tonight� there is a large blank canvas at my house just waiting for some paint. i think i know what i�m doing tonight.
