monday & im ass-deep in work but i dont care. i cant believe im saying this but i had a great weekend. (who woulda thought?)

spent friday night working on my chapbook while a friend of mine dozed on the couch & did her laundry. felt good to put the book together. first time in a long time that i have been happy with what ive written.

saturday was a day of sleeping late, watching movies, getting music & good food, & just being relaxed. & i did relax. God, i need to do that more often. spent most of the afternoon listening to Tom Waits Closing Time & having a long overdue cry. (that record does it to me every time). also got Johnny Cash American III: Solitary Man & damn he is STILL the man. old standards, some new songs, & covers of U2 & Nick Cave. makes me glad to be alive.

sunday ah, sunday.
the feature was great. had a ball reading & that had everything to do with the people who were there. just a great feeling in the room & i fed off of that energy. so many people who i hoped would be there were there & it just made it for me. gave out more books than i sold but it was worth it. there are days where you feel like everything is going your way & last night was one of the. i felt like i got more good healing from the audience than i could ever give back.

last night i slept a dreamless sleep. first time in months that ive awoken rested. not a bad way to end my birthday weekend. i think that was one of the best gifts ive gotten.

oh, before i forget
come to the poetry readings at First Night Worcester. they are at the chamber of commerce offices on main street. be nice to see all of your smiling faces.

much more tomorrow.
as for now, im late getting home so be well.
