friday is here & it could not come soon enough. it has been snowing on & off since wednesday & i can�t say that i mind too much� it is beautiful outside today &, with spring just around the corner, i can deal with the snow at this point. i can smell spring in the air & can already see the buds forming on the trees. life returns & i am glad.
spent the night painting last night. been a while since i sat down with the paints & it felt good to dive back in. i forget just how relaxed i get when i�m painting, forget how good it feels to create something. i almost never stress over my paintings� i figure that the worst that can happen is that i screw up the painting & have to start over. so what? would that all of life�s mistakes could be erased with some gesso & a brush.
having a very calm day. work to do, but the department is empty today so i can move at my own pace. i love days like this. i also find that i get more done when everyone else is out� less distractions, i guess.
speaking of distractions�. one of the world�s foremost experts on Shakespeare just took a tour of my lab. very nice fellow who looks like he should be teaching Shakespeare. that kind of distraction i can deal with.
